NEC Unified Solutions has unveiled UC for Enterprise (UCE) Collaboration application to help enterprises make remote contact with customers and employees.
NEC has also introduced Hosted Collaboration, a web-based application offering same features and functionality to small- and medium-sized businesses.
UCE Collaboration, a video and web conferencing and collaboration application, is a key element of NEC’s UC for Enterprise Suite. The Hosted Collaboration service reportedly facilitates scheduled or impromptu video or web collaboration, thereby helping companies to extend their reach.
The company claims that by implementing UCE or Hosted Collaboration application, businesses can simplify network management issues and reduce the need for costly business travel.
Both UCE and Hosted Collaboration application features include video conferencing; VoIP services; applications/computer sharing; and polling/surveys.
Jay Krauser, general manager of core solutions and engineering at NEC, said: “As organisations look at their bottom line, applications that can help decrease costs, increase revenue or help attract and retain customers are more likely to be considered to help the overall business objectives.”
The UCE and Hosted Collaboration applications would be offered in conjunction with XL Meeting – a reservationless third-party audio, video and web hosting service.
