NEC NOW HAS 70% OF JAPANESE MULTI-MEDIA MULTIPLEXERS MARKET

Unto those that hath: NEC Corp already dominates its home microcomputer market almost totally, and the company seems to have sewn up another substantial market in Japan, the one for multi-media multiplexers that handle speech, data, facsimile and video; NEC is now thought to have a 70% share of the market, up from 60% in September, but Fujitsu, Oki Electric, Mitsubishi and Toshiba all plan products to grab part of NEC’s market share.
