NEC Electronics Inc has unveiled its 11.3 colour Super VGA liquid crystal display – the largest flat panel display that can fit into a notebook computer. It has a 6-bit per colour display with a palette of 262,000 colours, a low power consumption design to save the battery life in a portable computer and a small outline form factor. Screens will start shipping in the current quarter for around $2,200 per unit.
