The deal sees NEC integrating XenEnterprise with its hardware and software, as well as agreeing to explore extensions to the XenEnterprise product based on NEC’s enterprise systems experience. NEC will also embed XenEnterprise within its SigmaSystemCenter systems management software.
The two companies will also work together to ensure that XenEnterprise interoperates with NEC’s Integrated VM, a virtualization management platform based on SigmaSystemCenter that is being designed to management multiple virtualization products.
NEC said that it will begin shipping XenEnterprise on its hardware and software in August 2007, while NEC SigmaSystemCenter with XenEnterprise Integrated VM capability will be available by the end of the year.
