NEC Corp has incorporated the new Intel 80386 chip into a new 32-bit financial terminal, which goes on trial in the spring: it is a general purpose teller terminal with facilities for account inquiries, foreign exchange and other banking transactions, and uses a real-time operating system and proprietary NEC local area network and office software.
