NEC HAS ORDER FOR DIGITAL EXCHANGE FROM NORTH WESTERN BELL

NEC Corp has broken through into the Baby Bells market for telephone exchanges in a small way with an order from North Western Bell for a digital NEAX 61E exchange with Integrated Services Digital Network support: NEC looks to follow on with more orders in the 20,000-line exchange range, and hoping eventually to sell communications equipment and computers to major US phone companies.
