NEC has reported consolidated sales of JPY3.58 trillion for the fiscal year ended march 31, 2010, a decrease of 15% compared to JPY4.21 trillion for the same period last year, due to large decreases in sales of network systems business, electronic devices business and personal solutions business.
For the year ended March 31, 2010, the company posted an operating income of JPY50.9bn, compared to an operating loss of JPY6.2bn in 2008. Net income was JPY11.4bn, improved from net loss of JPY296.6bn for the same period last year.
IT services sales were down by 6.9% to JPY876.5bn, IT products sales were down by 21.5% to JPY209.2bn, and network systems segment sales decreased by 21.6% to JPY785.9bn. Social infrastructure, personal solutions and electronic devices segment sales were JPY316.6bn, JPY737.9bn and JPY572.8bn, respectively.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2011, the company forecasts sales of JPY3.30 trillion, operating income of JPY100bn and net income of JPY15bn.
