NEC CONSIDERS MOVE TO HONG KONG

In a remarkable move, NEC Corp says it is considering moving part of its personal computer design team to Hong Kong in a move to develop a lower-cost personal computer, Reuter reports from Tokyo: NEC hopes to increase its use of cheaper Asian-made parts, thereby making its products more competitive in Japan it aims to increase the ratio of Asian-made parts in the new, cheaper machine to between 70% and 80% from 30% in its current cheapest.
