NEC Corp says it plans to begin volume production of 4M-bit dynamic RAMs in 1990. It made the announcement as it revealed plans for a new $260m semiconductor plant, to be built in Hiroshima. It will turn out 4Ms and 1M statics at 30,000 a month. The plant will be NEC’s 11th in Japan, and its first for 4Ms.
