NEC selected by Taj Group Hotels as preferred network offering vendor

Receives orders for IP telephone systems to 8 new hotels

NEC India, a subsidiary of NEC, has signed an agreement with The Indian Hotels Company known as the Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, to be as the preferred network offerings vendor.

NEC said that in addition to the agreement, it has also received orders for IP telephone systems for another eight new hotels being constructed by the Taj Group this year in India.

The IP telephony system is based on the company’s Univerge SV8000 series communication server that supports voice, unified communications and mobility offerings.

The company said that it will continue to work closely with Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces to collaborate on further services for guests and operations.

The Indian Hotels Company CTO and senior vice president of technology Prakash Shukla said NEC will provide a feature-rich, scalable and interoperable offerings which helps the company’s network to deliver efficient quality services to its customers.
