NCR Corp says Wal-Mart Stores Inc has asked it to triple the size of what is already a vast data warehousing system. The expanded deal calls for it to boost substantially the data analysis capabilities of Wal-Mart’s data warehouse system, making it the largest commerical database system currently in operation. NCR will one new WorldMark 5100M massively parallel processing server and upgrade a second to 96 nodes from 32. The total system contains more than 1,024 of Intel Corp’s Pentium Pro 200MHz microprocessors running Teradata parallel database software. á
