NCR PREVIEWS NEW SELF-SERVICE FINANCIAL TERMINAL

By CBR Staff Writer

NCR Corp previewed a new self-service financial terminal at the Retail Delivery Systems Conference in Nashville, Tennessee this week: it enables bank customers to obtain information, receive a statement, order cheque books or have a car loan approved, with a view to helping banks and others to lower their operating costs; it also enables banks to cross-sell products or services such as insurance, certificates and share prices, and the NCR 5682 APM terminal can even help customers ask what if? queries on their accounts – no word on whether it comes back with answers like you go straight to gaol or we’ll close your account to appropriately screwy questions; it lists for $17,000 to $22,000 and is planned to be available sometime next year.
