NCR Corp still has more nasty surprises up its sleeve, and the latest is to announce that with one of its 13 directors planning to retire at the annual meeting, it will cut the size of its board to 12 from 13, which means that the AT&T Co will not be able to win the seat of the retiring member: NCR directors resign and submit themselves for re-election in rotation, four a year, so the move presumably means that AT&T will now be able to win only three seats on the board this year and not four unless it can get 80% support for a motion to replace the entire board; after the meeting, NCR will be free to up board membership to 20, with AT&T nominees in a minority of three to 17.
