NCR-COMTEN SCORES COUP WITH MAJOR NEC SNA PACT IN JAPAN

NCR Corp has scored a significant coup in Japan by winning a contract from NEC Corp to provide communications processors and gateway software that will enable users of Honeywell Bull compatible mainframes built by NEC to be linked into IBM SNA networks. The communications processors will come from the NCR Comten family of IBM 37XX-compatible machines. Initial ships under the agreement start within a year.
