Quarterlife is an American online series and social network created by Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick. The show is about a group of 25-year-olds and their personal lives in the blog of the lead character, a would-be writer named Dylan Krieger.
By acquiring Quarterlife, NBC will be able to replay the episodes on its websites after the broadcasts and will sell the negatives of the episodes internationally. NBC is expected to broadcast the series from February 2008 after running eight-minute episodes on MySpace.com and Quarterlife site. Mr Herskovitz and Mr Zwick will retain 100% ownership and creative control of the series.
In a similar move, American Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) has announced to broadcast 13 out of the total 22 series of its soap ‘Dirty Sexy Money’ on its channel. The broadcasting was affected due to Writers’ Guild of America (WGA) members’ strike in November 2007. However, ABC has decided to film and broadcast the 13 series of Dirty Sexy Money, which were scripted prior to the commencement of the strike.
