Nuance Communications has announced that its T9 Nav mobile search and discovery application is available on the Nokia Ovi Store for series 60 third edition devices. T9 Nav enables users to find and access any application or service on or off their mobile device.
The company said that T9 Nav is based on Nuance’s T9 predictive text technology to simplify navigation and discovery of a variety of applications, content and information. By typing with one key press per letter from the idle screen, consumers will be able to navigate around complex menu structures to find contacts, games, stored songs, any feature or service available on the device or on the operator’s network.
According to Nuance, T9 Nav enables mobile users to cut through the clutter and find the applications and services they need, decreasing task completion time by up to 67% to enhance overall mobile productivity and convenience. It also adapts to the user’s behavior to ensure delivery of relevant and accurate results.
T9 Nav is part of Nuance’s broader mobile portfolio that features pervasive speech and text input services that are changing the way consumers interact with their mobile phones to send text messages and email, and place calls, the company said.
Michael Thompson, senior vice president and general manager at Nuance Mobile, said: “T9 Nav is a must-have application for those looking to get the most out of their device, as it virtually eliminates the various menus and clicks traditionally required to access their favorite games and songs, and even those features that are critical to daily mobile productivity, like their calendar, task lists, and more.”
