National Semiconductor Corp has confirmed Japanese press reports that it has settled the suit it brought in February against Toshiba Corp alleging the latter violated NatSemi’s patent on the NS16450 communications chip: NatSemi declined to give details but the re-ports suggest Toshiba agreed to pay NatSemi at least $70,000, but without admitting to any wrongdoing.
