National Telephones Ltd has made its second acquisition in nine months in the form of Gazelle Group Plc, in a deal which puts a value of UKP25m on the combined group, according to its venture capital backers Advent. Gazelle distributes telephone equipment, including cordless phones, feature phones, cable wiring and call loggers to independent telephone dealers. It also operates a maintenance division, which supplies British Standard field systems and sells Belmark do-it-yourself cabling for telephone extensions. National Telephones Ltd is based in Camberley, Surrey. It has two trading arms, the first of which manufactures a range of PABXs with up to 120 extensions, called the London range and exports the products in over 30 countries. The second company, National Telephone Systems UK Ltd acts as the sales and marketing arm and sells the London range in the UK. It also sells call logging kit under the Telcost brand name and also incorporates Ansafone Corporation Ltd, which the company acquired last autumn.
