National Semiconductor Corp has received Licence and Certification for its Radiation Effects Laboratory: the certification from the USNuclear Regulatory Commission’s permits the handling of neutron-irradiated material in NatSemi’s Radiation Effects Laboratory in South Portland, Maine, and the same laboratory has been granted LAB suitability by the Defense Electronic Supply Center which means that it has met government requirements to perform total dose testing; tests and data from the laboratory will be recognised by government departments and agencies, and NatSemi is now qualified to support its radiation assurance program for FACT, Fairchild Advanced CMOS Technology logic products.
