NATIONAL MICRONETICS HAS TECHNOLOGY EXCHANGE AGREEMENT WITH SUMITOMO SPECIAL METALS

National Micronetics Inc, Kingston, New York has agreed a technology exchange agreement with Sumitomo Special Metals Co Ltd, Osaka, Japan, under which the two will share secrets related to advanced magnetic recording heads: Sumitomo Special will acquire manufacturing and marketing rights to National’s Maximum Track Capacity recording device in exchange for its own metal-in gap technology, and the two will work jointly in the application of the Japanese technology to the the Maximum Track Capacity device – and disk drive manufacturers will get an alternate source for National Micronetics recording heads.
