By CBR Staff Writer

National Advanced Systems, the wholly owned National Semiconductor Corp subsidiary that markets the Hitachi IBMulators, has decided to share the load in Canada by forming NAS Canada Inc as a joint venture with Sand Technology Systems (Canada) Inc: the two companies will merge their Canadian operations and will initially sell and service large-scale mainframe and peripheral systems currently offered by the parent corporations; the new NAS Canada company will start life with a combined base of over 200 major customers, with installed equipment worth more than $100m.
