NATIONAL ADVANCED SYSTEMS, INTERLINK TO DO IBM-DEC TIE

National Semiconductor’s National Advanced Systems IBMulator unit has signed a five-year agreement with Interlink of Fremont, California for joint development of products that will enable the Hitachi mainframes sold by NAS to co-exist in a DEC VAX environment. Four-year-old Interlink’s sole current product is the 3711 Gateway Connectivity Package which links IBM mainframes und-er MVS to DEC VAX systems. The agreement also gives NAS an option on an equity stake in Interlink.
