NASDAQ AND SUN TEAM ON E-TRADE

By CBR Staff Writer

If these guys don’t know about electronic trading, who does? The Nasdaq Stock Market’s Nasdaq International Market Initiatives subsidiary, NIMI, has teamed with Chile’s only electronic stock market Bolsa Electronica de Chile and Sun Microsystems Inc in a joint venture to develop and sell software for automated securities markets. Open Global Electronic Transactional Systems, or OpenGETS will support Bolsa Electronica’s systems, has licensed its trading systems to other Latin American countries and is targeting markets worldwide. Its flagship product Sitrel, is a family of software and hardware components that can be adapted to electronic negotiation systems such as trading floors, auctions and biddings, and also to electronic commerce applications.
