MYSTERIOUS IBM DISK DRIVES NOW HAVE PRICES

By CBR Staff Writer

Latest intelligence on those mysterious IBM 3380 AAF and B4F disk drives (CI No 619) is that they now have prices – which fall between those of the current AD4 and BD4, and the AE and BE dual-capacity 3380 models: the AAF is UKP86,711, the B4F is UKP68,051; the AD4 is UKP68,882 and the BD4 UKP52,000; the AE is UKP92,720 and the BE UKP75,996; no-one has yet been found at IBM who knows anything about them, and disk drive guru Jim Porter of Disk/Trend – who has forgotten more about disk drives than even IBM will never know – has never heard of them.
