Mounds View, Minnesota-based Multi-Tech Systems Inc has launched an eight-channel version of its MultiMux speech, data and facsimile line that also supports two voice/facsimile channels. The MultiMux MMV808C/V supports up to eight asynchronous data channels, two speech and facsimile channels and two composite links, which can operate at up to 256Kbps when connected to appropriate external Digital Services Unit. Each voice channel includes interfaces for FXO, FXS and E&M operations. The MultiMux operates over a single composite link at up to 256Kbps or dual composite links at up to 128Kbps each, enabling several sites to be interconnected to form private multi-node networks. The V.35 or RS232-compatible dual composite links can operate with either external four-wire synchronous modems or external Digital and/or Channel Services Unit up to 256Kbps. The product includes a built-in command modem for network management. The latest MultiMux is available now and sells for $3,500.
