Milton Keynes, UK-based chip and chip set designer MSU Corp says the final pre-production model of its Slipstream Internet Box is being shipped to corporate clients in the US, Taiwan, and mainland China. The box incorporates MSU’s proprietary Internet Service Processor, iSP chip (CI No 2,941). The company says it has orders for 105,000 units for calendar 1996 and for just less than 1 million for 1997. It will be demonstrating the Slipstream Internet Box next month at Comdex in Las Vegas. MSU Corp’s chips and chipsets are used by computer manufacturers and for CD-based video entertainment and education systems. In June, it licensed its technology to US television set-top box builder American Interactive Media Inc (CI No 2,941).
