MSI Computer has launched MSI Wind U135 netbook, which features Intel’s Pine Trail Platform with Atom N450 processor, Windows 7 Starter operating system and 10-inch WSVGA display.

According to MSI, the new netbook features a 160GB or 250GB hard drive, 1GB of DDR2 memory and Intel NM 10 Express chipset.  It comes with a new raised chiclet keyboard, colour film printed case, 20% larger keys, 1.3M webcam, D-Sub port, 3 USB 2.0 ports, 4×1 card reader, Intel GMA3150 graphics, wireless 802.11b/g/n.

The new netbook comes with a choice of 3-cell or 6-cell battery, with the later delivering a battery life of up to 7.5hrs. It weighs around 2.4lbs with 3-Cell battery or 2.6lbs with 6-Cell battery. The U135’s new CPU and single chipset architecture combine to consume just seven watts, increasing battery life by 15% and overall performance by 10%.

In addition, the netbook’s battery life also benefits from the MSI ECO Engine Technology and LED display. The ECO engine technology enables users to choose from five power modes to customise the power supply based on usage requirements.

The new Wind U135 is available in the range of $309.99 – $329.99, in a choice of silver, charcoal, ruby and sapphire colours.
