Microsoft Corp is launching MS-DOS 6.2 this week with a manual for those that are less experienced, and new safety features to counter concerns about lost data that cropped up in the last upgrade; the easy to use version will put off all but the thickest skins by being dubbed MS-DOS 6.2 Upgrade for Dummies; the upgraded version includes several new safety features including DoubleGuard, which verifies the integrity of the data before writing it onto the hard disk; the DoubleSpace feature also takes up less memory and makes it easier to uncompress the data; the upgrade with the Dummies book will carry a suggested retail price of $80; it will be free to MS-DOS 6.0 users on bulletin boards or $10 in stores.
