In the war of words over Windows and OS/2, Microsoft Corp scoffed to the Wall Street Journal at IBM Corp’s claim of 4m copies of OS/2 sales, saying IBM’s royalty payments to Microsoft suggest that no more than 1m copies are in use, IBM has probably not shipped more than 2.5m copies, most of those pre-loaded on its own personal computers.
