MS PLAN OPERATIONS CENTRE IN DUBLIN

Microsoft Corp plans to build a European Operations Centre in Dublin, Ireland, to centralise its European distribution and customer service and solve the problem that availability of new releases of its software is very patchy in some major markets just read the ads in the personal computer mags and notice how many firms are still shipping the previous release: the new distribution centre will have an electronic ordering system and is scheduled to be ready to start operations in mid-1994; no word on the number of jobs that will be lost at the distribution centres currently maintained in each country where it has a subsidiary.
