Microsoft Corp duly launched its Windowgrated Office 4 package with upgraded Excel, Word and PowerPoint and offered it at $750 at least until the end of January: those with an earlier version of Excel, Word or PowerPoint can upgrade to the new suite for $260; Word 6.0 will be available immediately, Excel 5.0 will be available by the end of the year and PowerPoint 4.0 will be shipped in early 1994; the thing comes in versions for Windows and Apple Computer Inc’s Macintosh; a Professional version also features the Access database and costs $900; all versions suite include a desktop licence to Microsoft Mail.
