By CBR Staff Writer

GEC Plc is set to garner orders worth well in excess of UKP20m as a result of Mrs Thatcher’s visit to Moscow this week. The company has received a firm order for UKP2.5m to supply paint-spraying robots for a Gaz car and lorry factory in Gorky, and its Kidsgrove, Staffordshire subsidiary GEC Industrial Controls has a protocol of intent to supply UKP20m worth of equipment to a new Armenian factory, being built by Simon-Carves of Stockport, to manufacture GEC’s GEM 80 line of digital programmable logic controllers.
