Mozilla, the creator of web browser Firefox has launched a new cloud-based Webmaker app, called Thimble that enables users to create and share their own web pages and other projects in easier way.

Thimble is a web-based code editor that lets beginners create their first website and can be used by advanced users to write and edit HTML code within the browser, preview and correct work, and publish and share fully functional web pages.

After creation of the website one can publish it with a single click, then continue to edit and tinker with if required.

Mozilla communications director Matt Thompson said in the company’s blog, "Thimble removes many of the barriers for novice users trying to learn code, and includes a series of starter projects and templates to help anyone get started quickly."

Users can check out Thimble at a new Mozilla webmaker.org. website that also includes projects to help users make and learn with Thimble, alongside other Webmaker tools like Popcorn and the X-Ray Goggles.

Mozilla stated the new projects help users perform activities such as tweaking their blog template, making interactive videos, creating 3D web pages including projects from partners like Tumblr, the London Zoo, the New York Public Library and many others.

The company said Thimble doesn’t support uploading images or video, but it allows users to link to hosted images and video on popular services like Flickr, Vimeo or Youtube.
