Movielink teams with Microsoft to deliver VOD download service

Movielink, a broadband video-on-demand service provider, has teamed up with Microsoft to offer Hollywood content to Microsoft's Ultra-Mobile PC devices.

Microsoft’s forthcoming ultra portable PC is expected to feature wireless connectivity and internet browsing capabilities, making it the ideal partner for Movielink’s download service.

Under the agreement, Movielink will be the provider of video content for the UMPC Program Launcher, enabling users to download their favorite films directly to their portable device.

Bill Mitchell, VP of the mobile platforms division at Microsoft, said,

Movielink is an ideal content partner for UMPC devices, as it provides a large library of high-quality video content on demand. UMPC users will benefit from the ability to download their favorite movies directly to their UMPC on demand, making it easier than ever before for them to be entertained wherever they go.
