Movial launches IXS Browser on QtWebKit

Includes multiple tabs with live thumbnails, smooth panning of web pages and social bookmarking

By CBR Staff Writer

Movial has released a new cross platform IXS Browser running on QtWebKit, to enable developers to deploy and port the touchscreen optimised user interface code across any device.

The company, part of Adobe’s Open Screen Project, said that the new release features a user interface for different form factors and input methods such as finger touch, remote – and free space control. In addition, it includes multiple tabs with live thumbnails, smooth panning of web pages, an integrated RSS feed reader, an integrated web search, social bookmarking and favourite bookmarks.

Movial said that the new cross platform facilitates developers in Qt related services including Qt performance analysis, customisation and optimisation, application and widget development, hardware integration and consulting.

Tomi Rauste, president of Movial Creative Technologies, said: “Movial provides a clear alternative to confusing UI feature overload. With this latest version of Movial IXS Browser that utilises the high performance of QtWebKit, Movial provides the development community with the ability to quickly and easily deploy an intuitive browser that improves usability, and provides a streamlined consistent look and feel across all connected devices.”
