Mountain View, California-based Adobe Systems Inc says it has licensed a set of patents on rational screening technology for making digital halftone screens from Dr-Ing Rudolf Hell GmbH, based in Kiel, Germany: Adobe’s licensing of the Hell patents is intended to remove any concerns its OEM customers may have about potential technology conflicts, providing a technology base upon which they can build future PostScript products.
