Motorola Inc’s Cellular Infrastructure Group has won a $53m contract to expand the existing analog cellular network in China’s Hubei province. The expansion will increase subscriber capacity of the network from 230,000 to 350,000 when it is completed in the middle of next year. Motorola first installed Total Access Communications System cell site equipment in the network in 1991.
