Motorola Inc says its Pan American Wireless Infrastructure division has signed a $7.5m contract to provide a cellular telephone network in Brazil. Telecomunicacoes do Ceara SA will use Motorola’s Advanced Mobile Phone Service network to serve more than 13,000 subscribers in the state of Ceara. As part of the contract, Motorola will install its large-capacity EMX 2500 mobile switch and ThinCell base stations.
