Motorola Inc has grown like a cuckoo in the Compagnie des Machines Bull SA nest, and now it wants to turf its putative siblings out. Motorola Computer Group vice-president Wayne Sennett told Les Echos that Motorola wants to raise its stake from its current 17% by buying out France Telecom, IBM Corp and Dai Nippon Printing Co. We are discussing the increase of our stake in Bull, the paper quoted Sennett as saying. The purchases would take Motorola’s stake to 38.9%. Bull management would prefer to find another European partner, but most observers doubt that such a company exists.
