Motorola has unveiled a new smartphone Motoroi to be powered by Google’s Android version 2.0 in Korea. It features 3.7 inch touch screen, WVGA (480X854) display and a 8 megapixel camera with Xenon flash.
According to Motorola, the new smartphone display uses a combination of touch user interface (UI) and a capacitive touch sensor for screen flipping and scrolling, and five main displays with various widgets. It comes with Wi-Fi support and Android web kit browser supporting up to eight open browser windows and enables Google services including Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube and Google Talk.
The new smartphone offers the ability to use multiple applications at the same time with pinch-and-zoom browsing, and navigation through music, videos, and maps of the world. It includes a 720p HD camcorder that includes face detection, multi-shot (6 shots in a row), face filter, red eye reduction, camera shake prevention and HDMI features.
In addition, the new smartphone includes a MP3 player, terrestrial DMB, 3.5mm ear jack, storage up to 8GB and Micro SD support up to 32GB, a docking station and offers five text-input methods that include a 3X4 keypad, full QWERTY, half QWERTY, hand writing and writing pad.
Motoroi also supports multiple accounts and document editing, Gmail contacts sync, Microsoft and PDF document viewer, and optical character recognition; and helps to synchronise and manage multiple email accounts simultaneously, the company said.
