Motorola Inc has now formally confirmed that, following its broadbrush semiconductor technology exchange agreement with Toshiba Corp, it will be returning to full manufacture rather than just packaging of memory chips: it plans to start production of 1M-bit parts designed by Toshiba next year at its plants in East Kilbride, Scotland, in Mesa, Arizona, and in Austin, Texas.
