Motorola Inc’s Motorola Computer X Inc has teamed with Stratus Computer Inc, Marlboro, Massachusetts to market an XA2000 Continuous Processing System running the Motorola Computer X application designed to provide manufacturers with a single point of control over their plant operations. The real-time distributed Computer X systems, which are designed for control of manufacturing cells, are Ethernetworked together and to the XA2000, which runs on-line area and plant control applications and links on to minis or mainframes running engineering and business applications. The two com panies will market the sys tem worldwide under a non-exclusive agreement. First integrator to commit to ap plications for the kit is SBIcorp, Fort Wayne, India na. Motorola Computer X is a Motorola New Enterprises firm at corporate headquarters, Schaumberg, Illinois.
