Motorola Inc’s Huntsville, Alabama Transmission Products Division is shipping two data and facsimile modems, Premier 33.6Kbps and the Lifestyle 28.8Kbps PC Card, both incorporating V.34 technology. The Premier is said to be Microsoft Plug & Play compliant and supports DTE rates up to 268.8Kbps. It lists for $500. The Lifestyle is a 16-bit, Type II PC Card modem, incorporating facsimile error correction and Smith Micro Software Inc’s Quicklink Mobile data and facsimile software. It lists for $400.
