The Motorola Codex unit of Motorola Inc, based in Schaumberg, Illinois, has announced a NetWare Loadable Module that is designed to enable users to integrate the management of its wide area networking equipment with its NetWare management. Called WANvisible, it was developed in conjunction with Novell Inc. The NetWare Loadable Module has been designed to monitor and provide status information about Motorola Codex devices, with features that include link failure alarms and commands to enable the local area network administrator to initiate dial back-up in the event of a wide area network link failure. WANvisible is to be made available free of charge to users of NetWare 3.X and 4.X via the NetWire bulletin board. In addition, the product will be included in Novell’s recently-announced NetWare Branch Office Solutions packages.
