Motorola Inc’s Commercial Systems Division is hoping to make a splash at Comdex/Fall next week with an integrated imaging and facsimile package for the company’s MultiPersonal computer – the rather odd name that Motorola has chosen for its 88000 RISC-based Unix business computer. Motorola will demonstrate the prototype of the new imaging system at the show with delivery promised for first quarter 1991: it is designed to enable MultiPersonal computer users to scan or import images, enhance them visually while displayed on the screen and then place the image in a document that can be printed or transmitted wherever via on-line facsimile. When the product comes out next year, all imaging, scanning and facsimile software modules will also be integrated with the applications that are bundled with the MultiPersonal computer.
