Motorola Inc’s Scottsdale, Arizona-based Motorola Government Electronics Group has bought a 25% stake in Calgary, Alberta-based ACTC Technologies Inc, a software engineering company that originated within the University of Calgary as its Advanced Computer Technologies Centre and was was privatised in 1989: present owners include the University of Calgary, Bull HN Inc. and ACTC employees; Motorola and ACTC will be looking for markets around the world to sell communications technology developed in Arizona by Motorola, which it has been working with since last year as part of a contract to develop a crypto material management software for the Canadian Armed Forces; terms of the investment have not been disclosed.
