By CBR Staff Writer

Following the noises coming out of Ferranti Computer Systems Ltd about the Manchester firm making a second attempt to enter the Unix systems market, (CI No 1,099), the company has signed an OEM agreement for Motorola’s Delta system Unix boxes and will add them to its ageing family of Argus 700 16-bit minicomputers: the one-year deal is worth $5m. Motorola Computer Systems, Maidenhead, Berkshire, also announced that 200 of its MVME 224 boards – worth $650,000 – have been taken by British Telecommunications Plc for its M6000 family of computers launched last week (CI No 1,096).
