Motorola has completed the acquisition of SecureM and its wholly owned subsidiaries, together operating as SecureMedia, a developer of software-based digital rights management (DRM) and security systems for IP video distribution and management.
SecureMedia develops and markets software systems for securing the distribution of digital entertainment over multiple platforms to multiple devices including set-top boxes, wireless handsets, PCs and portable entertainment devices.
On January 7 2010, Motorola has signed a definitive agreement to acquire SecureMedia, under which it has acquired all of the assets of SecureMedia.
Motorola said that the acquisition of SecureMedia will enhance its content security product portfolio and be able to offer both stand-alone and integrated software security offerings to IP video customers.
Motorola’s Home & Networks Mobility business delivers integrated media offerings enabling operators to provide personalised, rich media experiences to their subscribers.
