Motorola Ltd has announced its version of Unix System V.3 in the UK to run on its 68020-based Series 8000 32-bit supermicros: Motorola will begin distribution of System V/68 release 3 in mid-February although Remote File Sharing and Streams, which Motorola calls Network Services Extension, won’t be included in the basic licence price; System V/68 costs from UKP800 for a one- to eight-user version, to UKP2,000 for one to 32 users, and upgrading from System V.2 is UKP400 and Remote File Sharing adds UKP500.
