Motorola and Brazil’s Global Telecom strike supply deal

Motorola Inc. has signed three contracts totaling $52 million to provide mobile phone infrastructure to Brazil's Global Telecom's.

The deal is part or the Global Telecom’s coverage expansion program in the states of Parana and Santa Catarina.

Motorola will supply base stations for Global Telecom using 3G code division multiple access technology, known as CDMA. This will also set the foundations for the Brazilian firm to provide data transmission and Internet access in the future.
